On Oct. 4, the new European funding calls of the Horizon Europe – Cluster 2: “Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society” program allocated by the European Commission were launched.<\/p>\n\n
\nCluster 2 is devoted to challenges related to the management of democratic governance, cultural heritage and the creativity industry, as well as social and economic developments. <\/h2>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n
The main objective of the intervention is to enable policy makers and practitioners to address target issues by adopting new models and policies for change in a context of rapid change, transitions and global connections.<\/p>\n\n
The budget allocated by the European Commission will be \n \u20ac 2.281 billion<\/mark>\n<\/strong>, and the deadline for calls for proposals is set for \n February 7, 2024.<\/mark>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
The program was declined into 3 destinations with related subtopics. Here are the ones that we find particularly interesting and promising:<\/p>\n\n
Destination 1 “Innovative Research on Democracy and Governance”<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n
\n
- The promotion<\/a> of culturally driven physical and virtual<\/strong><\/a> spaces to ensure digital spaces (including metaverse and social networks) have apositive impact on democratic life <\/strong>and limit potential threats to democracy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
\n
- The promotion of focused research in the field of democracy and governance<\/strong><\/a> through applications in a practical\/real-world setting to understand recommendations for legislative changes and translate research findings into innovations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
\n
- Supporting culturally driven activities to mitigate discrimination<\/strong> and promote inclusion<\/a>, including political representation. Insights on how to contribute to identity inclusion with concrete policy recommendations are strongly encouraged.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n
\n
- Work on promoting bottom-up <\/strong>and shared public management systems <\/strong>at various levels of government<\/a>, encouraging policy development and implementation in two areas of great importance: digital transition and climate transition<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n
Destination 2 “Innovative Research on the European Cultural Heritage and the Cultural and Creative Industries”<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n
For us, this destination is at the heart of action for the cultural and creative area and presents several opportunities of great significance and interest. Here are the subtopics:<\/a><\/p>\n\n
\n
- The development of strategies to strengthen European language capital in a globalized world<\/strong>, including implementation measures and processes that are socially sustainable and affordable in the short and medium term.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Leveraging the digital transition to make European cultural and creative industries competitive<\/strong> with validated and refined measures to increase the use of innovative digital technologies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Promoting the European cultural and artistic heritage of<\/strong> values at home and abroad by increasing visibility and testing pilot solutions based on models that enable cooperation between various levels: local, national and European.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- The search for innovative solutions to successfully implement strategic investments<\/strong> in the spirit of the New European Bauhaus initiative<\/strong> in cultural heritage and CCI, including through greater citizen involvement and social inclusion in the preservation and enhancement of cultural heritage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- The goal of making Europe’s CCIs<\/strong> real drivers of a sustainable climate transition<\/strong> in line with the 2030 targets set as part of the European Green Deal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
Destination 3 “Innovative Research on Social and Economic Transformations”<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n
\n
- Supporting educational activity with welfare and inclusion purposes<\/strong><\/a> to promote cultural awareness and assess its impact on the skill development of all children and youth by identifying any existing gaps. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Managing the challenges that hinder the development of the social economy<\/strong> and the growth of its successful activities<\/a>, to counter social exclusion and help improve working conditions in social economy organizations. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Contribution to behavioral changes for a more resilient and equitable society <\/strong> <\/a>for Preventing, counteracting and managing loneliness<\/strong> in Europe at the individual and population levels and the formation of a representative network of experts and policymakers involved in research and policy actions that address the socioeconomic impacts of this issue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Effective transition of young people into education and the labor market<\/strong><\/a> by analyzing participation and completion rates in education, including the long-term impact of the crisis from Covid-19 and the role of policies and investments in promoting equity and inclusion in education and training. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
